Italy just elected its first fascist since Benito Mussolini with the election of Giorgia Meloni as their next Prime Minister. There is no dancing around what she actually is. The media is afraid to use the word 'fascist' here in America, but we are not. Right now, there is only one media outlet calling this for what it is. This is another alarming signal to all of us here in the U.S. Meloni has had an association with Steve Bannon for a while, and she signed on to his worldwide fascist wet dream back in 2018. Meloni is also receiving a warm reception from elements in the GOP, like Ted Cruz, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene and others. As usual, the stale leftovers in the GOP fail to denounce any of this because they have effectively ceded the GOP to fascists themselves in order to hang on to their pitiful positions.

The stakes in this midterm contest are much higher than they have ever been in our voting history. It will be the difference between protecting our democratic process or moving the needle further forward to full-on fascism. We are already at the legalization phase of this march to authoritarian rule. The GOP is literally using our system to oppress those they consider "undesirable."

The GOP also spends the majority of its time on social media cooking up crisis after crisis and blaming the Biden administration for it all. The fact of the matter is that Joe Biden has more accomplishments at this phase of his administration than most other presidents. And he has accomplished this without one iota of cooperation from the GOP. In fact, the GOP has done nothing but throw roadblocks in his path, yet he has kept going.

We go into detail about the GOP's post-midterm agenda in another section, but the GOP has sent out many signals about where its agenda begins. It begins with dissolving the J6 Committee and impeaching Joe Biden. That will ensure that the seditionists currently in office are

protected, and that no legislation that actually benefits the American people will be introduced or passed.

While Joe Biden has committed not one impeachable offense, that will not matter to the GOP. Like the filibuster, the impeachment process will be used as a political tool instead of as a tool of legal redress.

The GOP will create havoc even worse than this.

Beyond these goals, the GOP will have legislative power to pass policies detrimental to the American people. With a solid enough majority, they will have the power to overcome all vetoes from the executive branch. We cannot overstate how critical it is for the Democratic voters to show up at the polls and vote out as many members of the GOP as possible.

They have been passing detrimental policies in the states consistently since Trump lost the election. Take a look around at where we are on a daily basis. That is all you need to do to understand how much worse this can get. Their targets will be women, children, LGBT and transgender Americans, people of color, immigrants, and anyone else they consider undesirable. If the GOP takes the midterms, say goodbye to legitimate elections

Election deniers are running at all levels of government. In fact, we have hundreds still in office right now who signed on to overturn a legitimate election. They are running for reelection. Others are running at the Secretary of State level, one of the most important positions in the election process. They have the power to control those elections. There is no "sitting out" this midterm cycle. The result could very well be that this is the last legitimate election cycle any of us will see.
